Climate in Bulgaria

There are around 2,000 to 2,400 hours of sunlight per year.
Four seasons. Dry, hot summer: average temperature (April - September) is 23°C. Cold winter with snowfalls: average temperature is 0°C.
The average temperature for the year is 10.5°C.
A Mediterranean climate, with dry summers and mild, humid winters, prevails in the valley of the south-western Rhodope Mountains. The northern limits of the climatic zone are the Balkan Mountains.
The average January temperature in Sofia ranges between -4°C and 2°C. The July temperature ranges between 16°C and 27°C. Along the Black Sea, the average January temperature ranges between -1°C and 6°C, and the July temperature ranges between 19°C and 30°C.
The soft transitional-Mediterranean climate and the fertile soils are very suitable for growing the famous Bulgarian attar-yielding rose – a valuable raw material for perfumery, medical and the food, wine and tobacco industries

What time zone is Bulgaria in?

Bulgaria is in the Eastern European Time Zone.
Eastern European Standard Time (EET) is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2).

Mobile phones

The most reliable way to conduct business in Bulgaria and to connect without any problems abroad is via a mobile telephone. Most UK or Spanish mobile phones will roam in Bulgaria. But the cost of calls whilst roaming are very high. 
The best option if you intend to be a frequent visitor to Bulgaria is to buy a local sim card for use in your own phone.  Note: Your phone may need to be unlocked from your exsiting sim card to accept the Bulgarian sim.
As in Spain the Bulgarian mobile phone providers, Mtel and Globul offer either a contract or Pre-Paid option using scratch off cards. 

Electricity in Bulgaria

Plugs used in Bulgaria, as in most of Europe, are two-pin plugs; which means that sockets are made accordingly. The common voltage is 220 V 50Hz.
